The Minister for Foreign Affairs says it'll take over seven billion euro to meet the urgent needs of people caught up in war torn countries like Syria.
In response to the crisis the Government has pledged a further five million euro to NGOs working in Syria and Yemen.

Charlie Flanagan says this pledge is a step towards fulfilling Ireland's commitment to provide 20 million euro in humanitarian support for the Syrian people by the end of this year.
He also says that some of this fund will go towards the Turkey humanitarian fund.
