The government has abandoned its own deadline for publishing an Action Plan for Housing.
The plan was due to be published in the first 100 days of the new administration – meaning a deadline of mid-August.

But housing minister Simon Coveney has now decided to delay the plan, so that it is not published just as staff take summer holidays.
The news came at the Dáil's housing committee, where Fianna Fail's Barry Cowen urged the state to lower the cost of building homes
