Clare's former Labour TD has defended his party's record on pay while in government.
Michael McNamara has hit out at deputies, including Clare Independent Dr. Michael Harty, who voted against the Party's motion on worker's rights.

The new government suffered its first Dail defeat on the motion, calling for public bodies to pay the living wage, giving freelance workers collective bargaining rights, and a clampdown on zero-hours contracts.
The Labour party has been criticised for the introduction of the likes of the Jobbridge internship scheme during its time in government, but Mr. McNamara says the programme helped many people to enter the workforce.
