A Clarecastle Councillor says the closure of Latoon Bridge would have a huge impact on locals and businesses in the village.
It comes after a warning from Clare County Council that it may be forced to shut the bridge completely if vehicles continue to ignore a weight restruiction which is currently in place.

Gardaí are to enforce the 3.5 tonne restriction, which has been imposed since late last year due to structural damage.
Councillor Paul Murphy is appealing to motorists to heed the warning but says the council also needs to do more.
