Applications for grant aid are being sought from voluntary and community groups in Clare for waste prevention projects in their local area.
Under the scheme, which forms part of the Waste Prevention Programme for the County, grants to a maximum of €500 are being made available for the provision of workshops on repair, reuse and upcycling.

Clare County Council says the purpose of the scheme is to support communities to take steps on waste prevention and encourage partnership between local businesses, local schools, charities and voluntary groups.
Applications must be made to the local authority's Environment Section by 5pm on July 1st.
