A Shannon Councillor is confident that Syrian refugees living here will be given a warm welcome by local communities and classmates at school.
The first of the families to be given refuge in Clare arrived at Shannon Airport this week.

The forty seven people, who are escaping the war torn country, will live in Shannon and Sixmilebridge and a second group of fifty people will be housed in an as yet unspecified location in the county later this year.
Sinn Féin Councillor Mike Mc Kee was among those who welcomed the families when they set foot on Clare soil and he says they're nervous and apprehensive about their new lives:
