The Taoiseach says the government could intervene if waste collection companies press ahead with higher charges for customers.
Enda Kenny says options are available if the companies don’t follow the spirit of the new system kicking in next month.

The Taoiseach had come to England for a day’s campaigning ahead of the Brexit referendum – but has ceased in the wake of events in Yorkshire.
But speaking to reporters in Liverpool, he said the point of the new waste charges was to encourage conservation.
