Quin Priest Thinks Church Has Important Role To Play In Irish Society

A Quin based priest believes the Catholic Church still has an important role to play in Irish society.

It comes as the Bishop of Ferns Denis Brennan warns that low morale among clergy in Ireland is leading to the fall off in vocations nationwide.

Two seminarians from Killaloe started in Maynooth in September and another will begin studying for the priesthood this year. 

Fr. Iggy McCormack, Director of Vocations in the Killaloe Diocese, accepts that the Church is facing serious challenges but says there's also an opportunity for the lay community to become more involved.
