Irish Water says a new section of water mains in the Parteen area will be installed in July.
Repair works are being carried out there today after a burst water mains has disrupted water supply to people there and in the surrounding communities.
24,000 litres of water has been provided to homes in the area yesterday and today by Clare County Fire Service.
It's the latest water burst in the area which the water utility company says is a result of the poor condition of the network.
A new section of water mains has been approved and works will begin on July 4th with the intention of addressing frequent bursts and the inconvenience to residents.
The ongoing repairs have also forced the closure of a busy local road in Clonlara and local Councillor Michael Begley believes that could have been avoided with relative ease.
