The region's main hospital remains the most overcrowded in the country for the second day running.
Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show 42 people are waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, 29 of those in the emergency department.

The figure has risen from yesterday's figures and is much higher than any other hospital in the country today.
At Cork University Hospital, 29 people are waiting for beds, while at Beaumont in Dublin the figure is 23.
