There's relief in the Clarecastle area following the announcement that the weight restriction on Latoon Bridge will be eased next week.
The restriction was imposed late last year due concerns over the structural integrity of the bridge near Clarecastle, but following a survey, it will be changed from 3.5 tonnes to 18 tonnes.

Clare County Council says repair work on the bridge is expected to begin in late August in the hopes of completing the project by November.
Signage outlining the details of the change will be errected in the coming days and Clarecastle Councillor Paul Murphy says the implementation of a timescale for the work to be carried out is a welcome move.
