A multi-agency search operation has been mounted after clothing was discovered close to the shoreline in Shannon.
Emergency services were alerted around 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon after walkers discovered "neatly piled clothes" at Drumgeely.

As a precaution, Gardaí requested search and rescue services to mount a survey of the area, though they had no reports of anyone missing in the area.
Members of Bunratty Search and Rescue and the Kilrush RNLI lifeboat carried out water based searches while the Shannon based Irish Coast Guard helicopter was also requested to assist.
The search was stood down around 7 o'clock last night.
