It's hoped that almost 18,000 library members in Clare will be able to enjoy expanded services courtesy of a new national Library Management System at Clare County Library.
The Sierra system, which is an initiative of Libraries Ireland will allow members a wider range of books and other items to choose from.

They can also return borrowed books and DVDs to any of the 10 other libraries which are taking part in the system around the country.
The transition to the new system will necessitate the temporary closure of the Library’s online catalogue, as well as all local branch libraries next Thursday and for much of Friday.
