Calls are being made for a change in the way environmental directives are applied, especially in connection with the River Shannon.
Killaloe Fianna Fáil Councillor Tony O'Brien has told a meeting of local representatives that he's concerned that measures to protect the environment are so restrictive that they could be harming the East Clare economy.
