A new 68 million euro medical device research centre will be officially launched at NUI Galway today.
CÚRAM involves over 250 researchers from six academic institutions across the country – focusing on chronic diseases such as diabetes, Parkinson's and heart disease.

The Irish medtech industry employees 29,000 people and is responsible for producing almost 13 billion euro worth of exports a year.
The centre will be launched by Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary Mitchell O'Connor later today.
