Warning Tat Property Market Is Being Severely Affected By Lack Of Supply

Daft.ie is warning that the property market is being severely affected by a lack of supply.

Although prices are rising much faster outside Dublin, the website's new report is pointing to changes in the capital in the third quarter of the year as evidence of the problem.

Prices jumped 5.3 per cent in Dublin in the year to the end of September, having been below 3 per cent for a year before that.

In Clare, house prices have risen by 6% with the average price of a home in the county now at 156,000 euro.

Chief Economist at Daft.ie Ronan Lyons believes the Central Bank rules can't fix all the problems in the market.
