There are calls to address what's been described as the "decrepit" state of public lighting in parts Shannon.
Councillor Gerry Flynn claims the standard of lighting in some of the older parts of the town is outdated and in need of an upgrade.

Council members and officials are expected to meet with representative from Airtricity shortly to discuss the problem.
Councillor Flynn says it's an issue for a number of estates.
