Clare County Council is clamping down on backyard burning following a sucessful prosecution in recent weeks.
At Ennis District Court, a four-month suspended sentence was handed down to an individual who was found to have burned waste on a large scale in the North Clare area.

Backyard burning is illegal and those responsible could be fined or prosecuted.
