Clare Farmers Suffering From Anxiety, Depression And Face Increased Risk Of Accidents

The Clare Chairman of the ICMSA says farmers are suffering from anxiety, depression and face an increased risk of accidents due to modern day pressures.

It comes as a new survey of 121 active dairy farmers has found that 16% of the farming population suffered from poor well-being, compared to just 12% of the general population.

The study, which was carried out by researchers at UL and NUIG found that work and financial pressures, work unpredictability and bureaucracy is leading to stress amongst farmers.
