Politicians are this morning set to question the Garda Commissioner about the whistleblower controversy facing the force.
Commissioner Noirín O'Sullivan will appear before the Oireachtas Justice Committee today – the official agenda for the meeting is to discuss the priorities for the force in the coming years.

But TD's and Senators are also expected to quiz her about allegations of a smear campaign against whistleblowers within An Garda Síochana.
Committee chairperson, Sinn Féin's Caoimhghín Ó'Caoláin expects the Commissioner O'Sullivan will face some tough questions.
