Gardaí in Limerick are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault.
A man in his 50's suffered head injuries in an incident at Lord Edward street at about a quarter to eight last evening – it's believed he may have been involved in an altercation with another man who fled the scene.

The injured man is receiving treatment at Cork University Hospital.
Gardaí at Roxboro station are investigating and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
