Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road crash in Ennis last night.
A pedestrian in his early forties remains in a critical condition in hospital after two cars collided at Highfield Park, on the Gort road, shortly before ten o'clock.

A number of occupants of the cars were also taken to University Hospital Limerick, where they were treated for minor injuries.
The Gort Road will remain closed, between Sheill's roundabout and Kelly's Corner, for the coming hour, to facilitiate a forensic examination and diversions are in place.
Superintendent Brendan McDonagh is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 68 48 100 or any garda station.
