Morning Focus Tuesday December 13

Some residents in the Cappahard area of the Tulla Road in Ennis recently contact us with concerns about the possibility of similar flooding in the locality to that which occurred in November 2009.
On Tuesday’s Morning Focus John Cooke was joined by Tom Tiernan, Senior Engineer with
Clare County Council to discuss
The council have stated that Flooding vulnerability in this area is to be dealt with under the forthcoming Office of Public Works (OPW) Fergus Lower Flood Relief Scheme (the follow on phase to the Scheme which successfully defended the Parnell St, Mill Road and other areas in November, 2009)

Tom Tiernan says that existing drains in that area are being looked at by staff at present
There are ongoing local issues- but the council is conscious that particular houses in that area would be vulnerable to flooding

He says there as been some activity recently and himself and his wife are a bit more relieved
