Happy New Year-the Wishlist for 2012

With 2012 now in full swing and the gaa season having kicked back into gear we here in Clare fm are going to put down not our resolutions for 2012.

 It’s not a list of predictions  but rather  what we would like to see happen in the coming 51 weeks of the year if possible and the sporting gods allow.

So let us begin in no particular order

  • Clare man Chris Bryan to qualify for the Olympics and do his county proud.
  • The Clare senior footballers to finally emege from division four. The talent is there but lady luck will need to shine-and no red cards please!
  • The Clare camogie senior side to draw together all the talent at underage level over the past three years to make an impact at league and championship level
  • Polish and Ukranian langauge schools spring up across the county ahead of Euro 2012 for the lucky few Banner supporters heading over mid summer to cheer on trap’s boys-and remind him of the promise to re visit the cliffs of Moher!
  • Derek O Connor follows up on his success at cheltenham of 2011 to aid many punters who had a tough xmas
  • The Clare senior hurlers under Davy Fitz put the last five years of disappointment behind them to book a place in the Munster final-
  • The Caherlohan project by Clare gaa sees action in the enormous complex in tulla by eyar’s end
  • Clare camogie get their own playing facilites finally!
  • Clare ladies football goes from strength to strength after the Division Three success
  • Clare’s run of success at handball continues with Munster and all ireland glory achievable at every age group.
  • Boxing in the county reaches new heights as Keelan Sexton moves one step closer to european and world Glory with a run of impressive performances
  • Clare paralympian’s Sarah Caffrey and Jonathan Mc Grath claim gold’ in August in London.
  • Rugby in the county is boosted as Luke O Dea and Damien Varley follow the three legend’s places on Ireland teams.
  • Clare success at Clonmel-man’s best friend always a good bet for success
