On today’s show Clare FM’s Gavin Grace spoke with Joe Wallace, Chairman of MILES or Men in Limerick Experiencing Separation. Miles offers emotional support and practical help to people going through a relationship breakdown. Joe spoke about father’s rights particularly in relation to custody of children and access to children following separation. MILES hold meetings every Tuesday & Thursday evening from 8 to 10pm. Molly Muldoon, Journalist with the Irish Central newspaper in New York joined Gavin for a new weekly feature where we get the latest news from the United States; what’s happening in America that might affect us here at home, news and stories from immigrants and the Irish Community in the States. This week Molly discussed a new book on President Obama that focuses on how he was received during his Irish visit and how Irish immigrants are opting for Canada and Australia rather than the US.

Sean Weir and Adam McEvoy from Gaelcholaiste an Chlair in Ennis spoke about their project “Tionchar na hAclaiochta ar Dhaltai” – the impact of exercise on students, with Gavin Grace on today’s show.  The students are delighted to be representing the county and are also the only Clare school exhibiting a science project as gaeilge!

Continuing with the theme of science, Clare FM’s Dermot Hogan has been speaking with Michael McDonagh from Ennistymon.  Michael is in his final year of training to become a Science and Maths teacher and gave us his opinion on the importance of science in schools and how teachers can help inspire students to pursue it as a career.  We also heard the opinions of students from St. Caimin’s Community College in Shannon on whether or not they enjoy science – with the majority in favour of the subject.

In our Friday sports preview we looked ahead to the Heineken Cup fixtures for this weekend with Raphael Ibanez.  The former French International and French Captain
Is a Heineken Cup Ambassador and discussed this weekend’s matches and upcoming games with Gavin Grace.
