On the 31st of December 2011, Ollie Nally’s wife Denise gave birth to twins- Bríd and Saoirse
Bríd had died during the pregnancy but her identical twin sister Satirise was affected in her development by her sister’s death
During the pregnancy they discovered that Saoirse’s condition was terminal
After Saoirse was born they received support from such agencies as Enable Ireland, Milford Hospice and the Jack and Jill Foundation
Ollie Nally joined Marian Egan in studio on Wednesday’s Morning Focus to tell their story and promote a fundraising event he is organising for the Jack and Jill Foundation for all they did for them

The Jobs Minister has welcomed the official opening of a multi-million euro cloud computing centre in Shannon, which it’s hoped will lead to significant spin-off for the local economy
Seven high-end jobs have been created at Mentor Graphics regional data centre at East Park, Shannon, which serves all of Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The company hopes to double it’s workforce within three years and says continued investment in the site will lead to a large spin-off for other firms in Ireland.
Marian spoke with Martin Gennery, Site Manager in Shannon and Global IT Director of 
Mentor Graphics about the investment.

She is a special guest at “Weigh Out” Fashion Show this Friday at the West County Hotel in aid of 3 local charities (Cahercalla Hospice, Clare Crusaders and Doolin Search & Rescue) and the Flagship charity of Weight Watchers, the Hope Foundation
All models are current Weight Watchers members – both male and female – at different stages of their weight loss journey- so this makes for a fairly unique event
Marian spoke with Teena about her dramatic weight loss and lifestyle change and coming to Clare this Friday.

Cuimhneamh an Chlar – the Clare Oral History and Folklore Group have organised Cuimhneamh agus Ceol this Friday in Glór, Ennis 
The concert that is aimed at raising vital funds to enable Cuimhneamh an Chláir develop their work of recording the memories of Clare’s oldest citizens.  The concert will also include short audio visual presentations from the Cuimhneamh an Chláir archive of over two hundred and eighty interviews with Clare’s oldest citizens
Tomas MacConmara and Jackie Elger of Cuimhneamh an Chlar joined Marian in studio to explain more about the event and about how the group is going.

Special Olympics Ireland have begun their volunteer recruitment campaign in County Clare Their annual collection day will take place throughout Ireland on Friday 27th April
They  need to recruit 3,500 volunteers to help collect on the day- CEO Matt English urged people  to get in touch with Siobhan Nolan in the Munster office on 021 497 7192 if they would like to get involved.

Paul Wolfe of the Clare Citizens’ Information Service joined Marian in studio to answer listeners’ social welfare entitlement, employment and consumer law queries.
