Morning Focus Monday August 13

In June of this year, a 15 year old Miltown Malbay teenager died in circumstances that shocked his community and devastated his family.
Sadly and tragically, William Winder, a Junior Cert Student at Ennistymon Vocational School died by suicide, and the questions left unanswered by his sudden passing have prompted his family to set up a foundation in his memory to raise awareness of youth issues & difficulties, and to offer support and information for other teenagers – their parents and schools.

On Monday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with William’s grieving mother and Uncle, and started by asking Caroline Winder to tell me about her son

Heart Breaking Disappointment for the Clare Minor Hurler yesterday – following a tightly fought contest with Dublin in Croke park
With the sides level right on the hour Clarecastle’s Bobby Duggan appeared to have put his side in front with a free from wide on the right but – controversially  –  it was waved wide.
Then just seconds left on the clock  a controversial late free for Dublin- when Jamie Shananan was adjudged to have overcarried the ball, meant heartbreak for the Banner.
The goal gave Dublin the winning score of 4-14 to 2-17 .
