The Afternoon Show – Friday January 18th 2013

Joining Gavin Grace on The Afternoon Show today was Sports Journalist Declan Quigley.  They discussed the latest on Lance Armstrong’s admission to taking drugs in each of his seven Tour de France victories. He’s also told Oprah Winfrey, in a one to one interview, he doesn’t believe it would have been possible to win without cheating. The disgraced cyclist said at the time he didn’t think he was cheating, and viewed it as a level playing field.

Michelle McMahon, Editor of Her.ie and a native of Lissycasey was also a guest of the show and discussed how a special anniversary is being celebrated today. Bringing sunshine, attractive tanned people and lots of juicy story lines into Irish living rooms since 1988; Australian show Home & Away is 25 years old today! The show is one of the longest running soap operas in Ireland and whole generations have grown up following the characters in Summer Bay.
