The Afternoon Show – Wednesday February 27th 2013

On today’s edition of The Afternoon Show Clare FM’s Máire Moynahan was joined by Cathal Barry, Journalist with The Irish Catholic newspaper.  They discussed how Pope Benedict the sixteenth has made his final farewell audience.  Tens of thousands of well wishers, with some estimating up to 200,000 people, gathered in St Peter’s Square waving flags and chanting his name. He will resign tomorrow – and in his speech says his eight year papacy has had its ups and downs.

Billy Marshal from Premier Industrial Cleaning and Maintenance in Limerick was also a guest of the show to discuss how on Sunday last Billy and his team were tasked with cleaning up the graffiti that was spray painted onto a section of cliff at Hags Head near the Cliffs of Moher.  He spoke about what an unusual, and indeed dangerous job it was to clean due to accessibility and harsh weather conditions.
