Retired District Court Judge Joseph Managan and Mayor of Clare, Cllr Pat Daly were among the mourners
Joseph’s Pavelka’s photo, the flag of the Czech republic, candles and flowers were laid on the step where his body was found

Clare FM’s Niamh McNamara attended the vigil and we heard from Father Joseph Ryan and Father Ger Fitzgerald who began the proceedings and other mourners there to pay their respects.

Clare FM will broadcast live from the National Famine Commemoration Ceremony in Kilrush next Sunday May 12th from 2.30pm 
This is the highlight of 10 days of National events around Clare to commemorate the Famine and this year President Michael D Higgins is the guest speaker – he will be accompanied by Minster for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan who is Chairperson of the Famine Commemoration Committee

Last year the turnout in Clare was 1,300 plus people – this year their online registration for the county has increased three fold so organisers are hoping that tomorrow will see the biggest turnout ever
