The Afternoon Show – Wednesday September 11th 2013

Today marks 10,000 days since the Chernobyl nuclear disaster – campaigner and fundraiser Adi Roche joined Clare FM’s Máire Moynahan on The Afternoon Show to discuss the work that’s still carried out, 27 years on, to help those affected. Adi Roche’s Chernobyl Children International is in urgent need of funds to improve the quality of life of this new generation as well as carry out life-saving operations. To date, the Irish have been unwavering in their support of those affected by the disaster. 10,000 days later, these children need our support more than ever. In support of the group, Derry Singer Songwriter Paul Casey has penned a song to support CCI and mark the special milestone. His song, “10,000 Days” is available for download on iTunes for €0.99. All proceeds go to CCI. Listeners can text CHERNOBYL to 50300 to donate €2 to CCI. 100% of each €2 will go to CCI.
