Mark Graham is an avid festival goer, Blogger and Author of “A Year of Festivals in Ireland: An Epic Tale of Meandering Misadventure and Anti-Economics”. Mark is also a conker champion, a bucket-singer extraordinaire and the sixth-best bog-snorkeller in Ireland. His mission: to attend three Irish festivals a week for a year. Tired of being told that we'd lost the run of ourselves and that the country was broken, Mark bought a camper van and decided to seek out the festive pueblos, parishes and paircs of Ireland to load up on some much-needed positivity. It could be one of the best decisions he ever made. He shared stories and pints with a gallery of odd and engaging characters, he's been to places in Ireland that he never knew existed and there were many times when he had a pain in his face from laughing so much! He talked about his new book and the fun he had in researching it! You can check him out online at www.ayearoffestivalsinireland.com

The Galway singer has a huge following across the country and comes to Killaloe this Friday night – May 2nd when he’ll be the headline act at the Brian Boru on the Hill Music Festival. Tickets available from the venue.

Fran O’Donnell is one of the organisers behind this year’s Riverfest 2014 in Limerick. This weekend’s 10th annual Riverfest now one of Ireland’s biggest family fun festivals of the year so far, will see Clare’s very own Sharon Shannon perform a free concert. This year’s Riverfest is expected to attract record crowds, with 50,000 people set to attend the myriad of family events over four days as Limerick becomes the centre stage at a national level for May Bank Holiday Weekend celebrations.  This translates into a €5.5m spend. Some 12,000 people alone will come in for the Great Limerick Run, one of the anchor events for the entire weekend. Check out limerick.ie or riverfest.ie for details.
