The Government has unveiled a new 250 million euro plan to boost job creation in the Regions including County Clare and the Mid-West – though details of a specific local plan have yet to be published.
The strategy will see the IDA receive 150 million euro in funding to build new faculties to increase employment in regions which have been left behind by the recovery as part of the Government's promise to create 40-thousand new jobs in 2015. John had been speaking to the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton

We spoke to Northern Editor of The Irish Times Gerry Moriarty, following the shooting of a man at a wedding on Wednesday night in Newtownbutler, Co Fermangh. Two people were shot – one fatally. It happened outside St Mary's Catholic Church in Newtownbutler near the border. The victim was flown to hospital in police helicopter where he later died. A second man – in his 30's – received non life threatening injuries. It is believed that the wedding involved members of the travelling community and that they were not locals.
