President Mary McAleese extended the invite to the local authority to mark the success of their twinning with Newry Mourne District Council in Northern Ireland.
The council will travel to Dublin on the 11th of May as well as representatives from the Northern Council for the reception
Mayor of Clare Madeline Taylor Quinn says its a great honour for the local authority and a testament to the twinning committee
