Dr Michael Harty was one of a number of TDs who opposed a bill put forward by People Before Profit TD Gino Kelly, in its current form, amidst fears that some of the provisions opens the door for recreational use.
The legislation is on course to be legalised by Easter, though the Health Minister says he'll make amendements at committee stage in the new year, as he has some concerns around the proposal.
