New figures from the Society of Irish Motor Industry show only nine cars were sold in the county last month, compared to 23 in 2015.
But the overall number of new registrations have risen by 18% since January, from 2,660 in 2015 to almost 3,150 so far this year.
The SIMI has welcomed the growth, which has come despite challenges of Brexit, and the slow down in sales over the past number of months.
