The legislation will enhance supports for victim of domestic abuse when going to court, while also providing stronger powers for people to apply for interim barring orders.
However, concern is being expressed that no specific offence of domestic violence is included in the bill and a lack of access to emergency barring orders outside of the hours when courts are sitting.
Enniswoman Sharon O'Halloran says they are eager to work with Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald to address the shortfalls.
