However, Dr. Michael Harty is warning of a number of challenges which have the potential to de-stabilise the current administration, including water charges, Brexit and it's implications for Ireland and the outcome of the Citizen's Convention on the 8th amendment.
This week, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said he believes the minority government will survive for at least another three years.
Deputy Harty thinks that prediction may be over-optimistic.
