It comes following a 15 per cent rise in the number of fatal road accidents on Irish roads in 2016 – 187 people nationally lost their lives over the last 12 months, two of those in Clare.
Both the RSA and the Minister for Transport, Shane Ross have described the rising trend as concerning.
