Clare County Council's monthly meeting for January, which took place at the Airport last evening, heard concerns from a number of Councillors about embankments at the Airport.

The meeting was addressed by senior Shannon management, including Chairman Rose Hynes who agreed that the site is exposed and that the issue must be pursued.

In 2015, the OPW identified the Airport as being among 11 flood-prone areas in Clare but last year the Council expressed concern that the Airport and Shannon Town were not being considered together under the CFRAM flooding study.
