For the second time in less than a week, the people of Clare are being invited to a protest on the ongoing overcrowding issues at University Hospital Limerick.

Following on from last Sunday's demonstration in Ennis, a protest march will take place in Limerick tomorrow, starting from outside the hospital itself at 12 noon.

The event's chief organiser says he's keen to stress that it is not politically motivated, and that it is aimed at the government and HSE, rather than frontline staff.

Meanwhile, Nurses have given health officials a week to come up with a plan to avert an all out strike in our hospitals.

Their union the INMO met with the HSE and government last night, but they're still looking for a way to ease the pressure as the trolley crisis continues.

The numbers waiting on makeshift beds surpassed 500 for the past three days in a row.
