Groups working to develop rural Clare are to be brought together to maximise the opportunities offered by a new government programme unveiled this week.
The local authority is to set up a special forum to coordinate a response to the Action Plan for Rural Ireland.
CEO Pat Dowling, says he committed establishing such a committee shortly after his appointment and will ensure it produces a plan that's in line with government policy.
The forum will hold its first meeting next month and local community, business and farming groups interested in nominating members will be invited to attend.
Mr Dowling says the rural forum will have two major aims.
