The union’s members have narrowly rejected proposals from the Department of Education, and will now continue their campaign of industrial action.
The Minister for Education, Richard Bruton has said that the offer to bring new teacher’s starting salaries to 35,000 euro from 2018 was at the limit of what can be afforded.
And that members of the ASTI now WON’T receive the benefits that INTO and TUI teachers have signed up to.
