The Garda Commissioner’s insisting at no stage did the policing authority express anything but confidence in her to do her job.
Noirín O’Sullivan’s appeared in public for the first time since the chair of the authority said she had “a degree of confidence” in the commissioner to head up the Gardaí while engaging with the Disclosures Tribunal.
She’s expected to be giving evidence within weeks to the inquiry set up to examine an alleged smear campaign against Sergeant Maurice McCabe.
