Clare’s War Dead To Be Remembered In Fanore

A North Clare village is commemorating local men who fell during World War One in their St Patrick’s Day parade happening this Sunday.

The Fanore parade, which is traditionally held on the weekend before the the national holiday, is this year celebrating the 100th anniversary of Clare’s last appearance in the All-Ireland Gaelic Football final.

It willl also be used to commemorate local men who died during The Great War.

Anne Pilkington, who’s a member of the organising committee, says particular attention will be paid to a specific battle 100 years ago.
