Two men have been arrested following a high speed chase through Ennis.
It follows reports from members of the public that a car was driving dangerously in the town this lunchtime.
Gardaí were alerted by members of the public to a car driving dangerously in Ennis this afternoon and at around 1 o’clock, the car, which was reported stolen in West Clare yesterday evening, was located.
The drivers of the car failed to stop and a high speed chase ensued through the town.
A short time later, the driver lost control of the car, resulting in a collision in the Oakleigh Wood area on the Tulla Road.
Two men were arrested at the scene.
They’re being detained at Ennis Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, where they can be held for a total of up to 12 hours.
There’s no reports of any injuries.
