Clare’s Fine Gael Senator is to call on the Policing Authority to outline its views on Noirín O’Sullivan’s position as Garda Commissioner.
Senator Martin Conway, a member of the Oireachtas Justice Committee, wants that group to question Josephine Feehily and her group to get their views on the scandals which have hit the Garda in recent weeks.
While the cabinet could remove the Commissioner, the Policing Authority can also recommend to the Government that a commissioner be sacked.
