Irish Women’s Team And FAI Move Closer To Resolution

The Irish women’s team won’t train today, there is believed to be some progress in their stand-off with the F.A.I.

It’s understood the F.A.I have invited the squad to mediation with the team permitted to bring a representative on their behalf.

Up to now the F.A.I would not engage in mediation with the team if a representative was present.

It’s understood that representative will be from the P.F.A.I.

And while John Delaney remains personally silent on the matter of the women’s team, he has today been voted onto UEFA’s Executive Committee.

The FAI Chief Executive received 48 votes – the second highest tally – and enough to see him join the 8-person committee.

The new role is believed to be worth an additional 100-thousand euro a year to Delaney.
