Two people have been rescued in Lough Derg after their yacht ran aground.
The alarm was raised around 8.30 yesterday evening after crew on board the 26 foot vessel got into difficulty near Coolbawn.
The Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat was dispatched and located the casualties shortly before 9 o’clock last night.

Both passengers were found safe and unharmed – the yacht was towed into deep waters and assisted back to Kilgarvin Harbour.
The RNLI is urging people taking to the water in Lough Derg to ensure that they bring charts, to identify areas that are not navigable.
