Clare County Council is set to elect a new Cathaoirleach at its AGM today.
Kilmaley Fianna Fáil Councillor Tom McNamara is expected to receive the honour, with Fine Gael’s Pat Burke from Whitegate as the new Leas-Cathaoirleach.
It follows yesterday’s election of a new Mayor of Ennis – Fine Gael’s Paul Murphy has taken over from Independent Councillor Ann Norton, who will remain on as his deputy.
